I'm thinking of getting the 3T Team Ergonova bars, has anyone on here used them or any of the 3T bars. Reviews, thoughts and experiences on the bars would be great.

I use the ergonova Pro's (aluminium), and really like them. I really like the flattened tops, good for climbing, and I like the way the drops are a bit wider than where the hoods sit. Only thing Im not overly fond of is the actual drop itself. I'd prefer a bit more reach when on the drops without extending the reach when on the hoods.

Im more than happy to live with them as they are though.

Cant comment on how carbon will affect them.

I'm just changing back over to what I had before from 44cm 3T Ergonova's as they are too narrow for me on the hoods and tops, be aware that their measurement is from c/c at the ends and on the hoods and tops it's a bit narrower than other 44cm bar types. On the hoods it's actually around 41cm.

I can't get along with them due to that fact alone, in every other regard I found them spot on and I have read lots of reviews from happy owners.
The other 3T models (Rotundo and Ergosum) are not like this as far as I know and from what I have seen with Ergosum's it's 44cm c/c at the ends but also on the hoods; but don't hold me to that.
  • Thanks sounds like I need to find a local LBS that stocks them so I can take a look. I haven't got the longest arms and have short hands so that’s what drew me to these. Like the idea of the flattened tops for climbing I thought that was maybe to clip on TT bars, shows what I know.

    Keep the thoughts coming :D
  • I have the 3T team Rotundo bars on my R3. Previous bike (Spec. Roubaix) had ergo bars,so I was a bit skeptical when the guy in the bike shop said try the Rotundo rather than the shallow drop Ergonova.

After a few rides, I now prefer the curve of the Rotundo, as you can use a range of hand positions rather than the two 'fixed" positions I found with the ergo bars (ie on the ergo bend bit or holding the ends). I had mine wrapped in the spec roubaix tape (thin version) which gives a pleasingly meaty handhold and damps the road vibration nicely. Perfectly fine for sitting up and climbing on the tops with this set up as well. Nice and stiff, so no loss of power when pushing hard.

A note of caution though - the Rotundo's are quite deep, so you need to be reasonably flexible to get down into the drops.

I'm going back to Spesh shallow drops, I have to be careful with my neck so find a short reach/shallow drop is ideal, the 3T Ergonova's are 77mm reach 123mm drop (which was fine), the Spesh bars I originally had and am going back to are 70mm reach (a touch better for me) and 132mm drop. Another user on here told me about Cinelli when I was asking about short reach bars and they also do one, the Graphis XL 70mm reach 125mm drop which may be bang on for you.

I have the Ergonova Team on one bike, and Pro on another, both 44cm.

Really happy with them. The thing I like is the short reach and shallow drop, it means I can ride in the drops really comfortably. Another bike I have the tops in the exact same place, but the drops feel way too stretched out.
