Now and again I search for Elswick-Hopper in the hope I might find a pic of the very first bike I ever had, a 1979 single speed model they made. But instead I found this on ebay:

That's actually a fabulous idea that deserves resurrecting. That should have been the London Hire bike. Cooler, more retro, more room for advertising, more likely to fit in with motorised traffic.
Must have been an absolute bugger going into a headwind or up a hill, though.0 -
