Yet another wet weather gear question

I usually wear my uniform trousers for cycling to work, as changing facilities at work are pretty poor, however when it rains i tend to go in the car! My wife is going to have it for the next few months, so I am looking for overtrousers any recomendations?

    Back pack with work kecks in a plastic bag inside or leave em at work. cycling shorts.

    cheaper than goretex.
    Note the Montane Featherlite pertex pants are the same cut but NOT waterproof and on a cold, wet night, you will get cold and wet.

    Sealskinz socks will round off the protection.
