I have decided to replace my front brake that Ive damaged. It was a Formula ORO K18 with 180mm discs and an IS 180 adaptor. The bike is a cube ltd team for XC nothing heavy.

My first question is what is a good brake for under £100? I was thinking AVid Juicy 3 or Elixir R? Is it worth paying the extra for Elixir? I would prefer to stick with Avids I think assuming that parts & spares & pads will be easily obtainable plus I have the bleeding kit.

I still have the rotors & the IS 180 adaptor from the formulas. WIll any caliper fit or do I need to make sure the caliper comes with its own IS 180 adaptor?

ON CRC I have seen a juicy 3 with 203 mm IS mount for £30:

WOuld this work with my setup?
