You not going for one of the tried and tested?!
I'm hoping my 25mm Gatorskins do the job!!
Spent 25 and 15 mins respectively putting the new tyres on last night!!!

I don't touch Bontrager anything quite honestly.

+ Krylion carbons all the way .... used to be Gatorskins which were good too.

I don't know how much, £20 quid each tyre. They seem to last bleedin' ages so works out reasonable in the end.

  • Narrowed it down to Gatorskins, Krylions or Bonty all weather race lite
All about same price £20 each

I use Bonty race lite hardcase on my commuting bike for the last few years (on my third set). They last ages (5000 miles+) and I have not had a single puncture on any set. The downside is they are not supple and lack feel, but who cares when I am only commuting to and from work.

My winter race bike uses Krylion carbons. They are a good training tyre and are a decent compromise. They are nowhere near as hard wearing nor do they have the puncture protection of the Bontys.

My summer race bike has GP4000s. They have excellent life and so far have resisted puncturing. I understand that they are very tough, but I like to save them for clean summer roads.

I have been using the bontrager race lite hardcase as my winter tires for the last 2 years and they last ages.
In that time I have had only one puncture.....a nail worked its way into the tire after getting lodged b/w mudguard and tire.
Its fast enough, on par with gatorskin and gp4season which I used previously, but much less so than gp4000s.
Really durable, but don't race on this or take corners fast in the wet!

So what's a good choice for taking fast corners in the wet? Either on a commuter or road bike :?:

Probably not a good idea full stop. But if you have to...Conti gp4season seems to offer a good compromise b/w grip, puncture protection and durability.

Hate to add another to the mix, but I really like my Schwalbe Blizzards and they're dirt cheap for what is a pretty good tyre.

How tough are the Blizzards calvjones? Are they quite good at warding off pun$tures?

Been commuting on Schwalbe DD's for over 2 months now. Between 150-200 miles a week.

No sign of wear, no ********res.
