MTB Cleaning Device

Right so my current house doesn't doesn't have an external water tap, for use with hose pipe etc (I'm a student, so you know the houses are a bit w*nk). This makes it a bit annoying to clean the bike, when I just could do with giving it a spray down, just to get all the muc off.
Now I remember seeing someone sell something along the lines of what I want in the classifieds. Like a portable mini pressure washer sort of thing, that you could put in the back of your car, for trips to trail centres and the like. Something along these lines, but maybe with like a hand pump? So the pressure isn't too high, just get all the surface dirt off for a quick clean.
Does anybody know if such a thing exists? Or have any other ideas that could get the job done.

Being in sort of the same situation living in a very large block of flats, I normally just bring down a bucket of water and a sponge, scrub the dry mud to get it wet and come off a bit, then dump the bucket of water over it. Works a treat for me and takes about 2 minutes, and you have the money you would have spent on some sort of washing device,0

Yeah I know that's a simple solution, I just want something with a bit of pressure to get all the grit and sandy sh*t out of my drive train etc.0

Yes! That's the sort of thing I'm thinking of.
Does anybody use one of these to clean their bikes? Would it provide enough pressure to remove dirt, but not too much as you mess up your bearings etc.0 -
What you need is a stirrup pump. It has a hose to suck in water from a bucket and another you can use to direct water onto the bike you're cleaning :-) You normally hold the bottom end with your foot leaving one hand free to pump it and the other to direct the water jet. Similar idea to a track pump.
A chandlers would likely have one as they're used to bail out boats and the like. Very popular in WWII for putting out small fires during air raids, or so I'm told!http://www.strathspey.co.uk - Quality Binoculars at a Sensible Price.

Ebay does a selection of garden sprayers, I've got a 6l one, pump it up with air and press the trigger, just modified mine by drilling a bigger hole in the nozzle so it flows a bit faster, the smaller hole was a bit to fine and took for ever. Don't over fill the bottle, blew the last one up - put to much water in then over pumped the air. Also good is a hand brush with FIRM long bristtles, use that first to get the worst of the crap off. I stick them in my van and after a ride wash the bike down straight away, then when I get home and I want to get really fussy I stick the bike in the bath and put the shower on. Bike first , then me. :PDon't think, BE:0

I've got one of those (the v17), was a v handy Christmas present!
It is quite good not sure it's worth the 130quid or so but it does do the job nicely!"I have a plan, a plan so cunning you could stick a tail on it and call it a fox." (from the Blackadder TV series)0 -
I use one these:

combined with one of these:

if you don't have a car to provide the power for the washer, then you can buy plug adapters that covert a cigarette socket to normal mains plug too.0 -

I've got the V17, living in a 2 floor flat I wouldn't be without it!0 -
Moby V15 here. Best money ever spent. I agree the V17 may be a bit too expensive, the V15 is capable of washing 2 very dirty bikes. Can't live without it anymore,my car trunk is thankful.Specialized Tarmac Sworks

I use a Dirtworker - very similar to the Mobi washer, but I think the Dirtworker came first - quite expensive, although mine was a bargin at £25 from halfords when they were getting rid of them a few years ago so I may be a little bias
Living in a 3rd floor flat I wouldnt be without it now. It also comes with me in the car during the winter and has more than enough capacity to get the crud and crap off 2 bikes covered in winter filth.
Top buy which ever you go for I rekon.0
