Hiya,

Anyone got any recommendations on a decent workshop manual for taking Road (Cyclocross) bikes apart and putting them back together again?

I'm pretty handy with bikes, but my new bike uses componants which are new to me so I'd like to make sure I don't **** them up when I try to clean and service them.

The BR Workshop guides are ace btw - good work!

The Park Tool website and Sheldon Brown are the best resources IMO.

The Haynes Bike Book isn't very good, so don't buy that. Unless you've literally never picked up a spanner before, it's not detailed enough.

the problem with the books is they can not cover anything new.

and the basics have not changed for years.

there are also the BR workshops that cover a few things.

Or just ask and someone will point you in the right direction.

Links in my sig for the above sites.

  • I found this site 2 months ago. There are 11 books, fairly up to date as pdf files. I have been doing serious bike maintenance for 30 years & have been on line for 16 years. I’ve bought 4 of these books! Needn't have bothered.
