Alternative to using hairspray to fit foam grips. My wife doesn’t have any so I need something else to get them on. Any recommendations of this that should be available around the house to use?

I usually just use airisol deodorent as it's normally near my bike area. Works a treat.0

GT85 :!: Yes, I know it's a lube but it does work. Spray a little and I mean a little into the grip and spread it around with your fonger and get the grip on the bars quick. Leave for a few hours, best overnight and you have solidly mounted grips. The other option is a set of lock-ons.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0

One of the reasons for buying foam grips is usually weight loww, so why buy lock ons? Foam grips are the easiest 100g ever to save and for less than lock ons0

Lynx works well lol. I just used Juice Lubes Brake Cleaner to fit my foam grips, worked a treat!0

Any advice on how to put a garage door back on? my van handbrake just failed and and took it off. On the plus side all the bikes inside are ok0 -
Use carb cleaner. It evaperates and doesnt leave any oily residue.0

Brake/Clutch cleaner, IPA, Deodorant, Carb cleaner: Any aerosol solvent will be wet and slippery to get them on and then evaporate real quick to leave the grips on solidly.Giant Reign - now sold :-(
Rockhopper Pro - XC and commuting
DH8 - New toy :-)0 -

Do you sometimes spray chain lube in to your arm pit?
I'm just curious as to why you do your bike maintenance in your bathroom or keep your deodorant in the garage?0 -

Another vote for this. Hairspray wouldn't work with my ESI grips, but the glass cleaner (which was recommended on the packaging) worked a treat.0 -
Is GT85 similar to WD40? I used WD40 once, they came off beautifully and the grips would never go back on without slipping when it rained.0

Regarding the garage door, check that nothing is damaged on it-if it is it might be new door time as the garage might not be secure if you re-attatch it0 -
