Hey all, hot on the heels of my Klein Mantra pics I finally got round to posting...
Frame: 2007 model Chameleon in white, medium
Forks: 2007 Rockshox Pike 426 90-145mm U-Turn with Maxle
Wheels: Hope Pro 2 on DT Swiss 5.1D rims
Brakes: 2007 Hope Mono Minis
Shifters: XTR M970
Bars: Bontrager X-Lite carbon risers
Stem: Thomson X4 50mm
Grips: Sunline Twisted Waffle, grey
Headset: Cane Creek S3
Seatpost: Race Face Deuce XC
Saddle: Selle Italia Yutaak Gel-flow
Chainset: Shimano Hone with MRP bashguard
Front/rear mechs: Hone front / XT M771 rear
Cassette: XT 11-32
Chain: Shimano 9spd
Pedals: Shimano MX30 flats (long pins fitted)
Tyres: Continental Vertical 2.3" for mud, Maxxis Larssen TT Exception 2.0" for dry days
Other bits & bobs: USE blue stem spacer, Hope blue rear QR, mud.
Built as an all rounder & it's been perfect for the riding I do, mainly Glentress black/red/blue/the smaller freeride bits  Future mods will be changing the brake hose to something more colourful (although having recieved the goodridge orange hose to do this it's a fair bit darker than I was expecting, prob go blue instead to match the other bits) and a Thomson layback seatpost. Job done. Always wanted a Chameleon & been most impressed since I bought it, been toying with the idea of a full-suss frame but tbh I don't need one & i'd regret it as this suits me perfectly!
Cheers,
J

Cheers guys, I was recently thinking of swapping the frame out for a small Heckler but to be honest I couldn't justify it, got this set up pretty much exactly how I wanted it - think i'll quit while i'm ahead this time... well, once I get the Thomson layback post on that is... and that blue Goodrich hose... poss. some floating rotors too...

i want a chameleon to make into a bit of a jumpy street but pedal efficeint bike so i can crawl it up a hill.
Lovely. My only dislike is the white, all the white bits on my bike look crappy brown now lol0 -
Lovely bike mate, I'm just looking at a similar stem to yours and looking at these pics I'm sold!
So I blame you for damaging my wallet0 -
Thewaylander - When I bought this from the original owner it was set up with a 105 rear mech & Ultegra close ratio cassette with a chain guide up front for racing DS, he never got round to using it for that purpose so sold it on, pretty much brand new! It actually worked really well with that set-up, think I had it round Glentress red route once with a 34t ring up front and the 12-25(?) out back & whilst not ideal, it was do-able as it's fairly light... then wind the forks back in to 90mm & have a wee blast round the freeride park on the way back down, i'm still crap at jumping but on this I fall less
Ben - B - The Thomson stuff is really nice, the finish is always spot on & it just looks classy for some reason - i'm gonna put a layback post on this & that'll be it pretty much done!
p.s. Merlin are really good for prices on their stuff too, look http://www.merlincycles.co.uk/Search/Pr ... mm_421.htm
