I am a design student and an avid Mountain Biker looking to improve on the current Mountain Bike lights that are available on the market as I believe they are over priced and under powered.

I think you'd struggle to improve on the Magicshine lights for the money.
But completed nontheless.0 -
Maybe struggle slightly on the money side.. But what im planning to offer no other lights on the market offer it. So it will be worth the money0

I am very happy with my P7/XRE combo, but...
I would like the XRE to be an-as-yet-to-be- designed XPZ which runs for 16 hours at full beam on a single cell, and which weighs no more than 50g... and if if the emitter could be integrated into my lid (to avoid branches) then that would be fine. I would be more than happy to pay £25 for a light like this.
I would like the P7 to run for 16 hours at full beam on a single cell too.Vitus Sentier VR+ (2018) GT Grade AL 105 (2016)

I've got 3 sets, I know countless other people both on here, and locally who all bought them and not 1 single person I know has ever been killed to death or had a single battery fail.
Now I'm not saying it dosent happen, but I'm saying based on numbers sold, I'd imagine it's a relatively small number.
Oh, and the new ones like the MJ-836 seem to have improved on the old reliability issues, the batteries are better sealed for a start.
So yes, really!
