Anyone received an Afine 11 speed hub yet?

Nope, but on the same subject, do you know if I can get one that is roller-brake compatible? My bike (Trek 'Soho') will not accomodate a disc brake and I don't want to fit rim brakes.
Ta.
(sorry for the semi-hijack)0 -
Not sure on the roller brake since none of us has had a chance to play with the hub yet. Don't think I would want a roller break in an urban setting though. Adding either post or IS disc mounts isn't that difficult, just take it to a local frame builder who has the same frame material and a jig for the mounts. You might also need to add mounts for cable or line routing.
Good luck!0 -
Are you guys pretty confident that the Alfine 11 will be right first time? Looks awfully tempting, no need to wait for fine tuning?0

I'm not
The previous Shimano hub gears have not used oil and seals, they've used grease
So the design must be somewhat different
So it will need a while to get settled in
In the meantime the price of 8 speed Alfine has already dropped0 -
There is currently an Alfine 11 speed hub with shifter and all fittings for sale on ebay at the moment0
