It was the energy drink, or maybe the flu treatment...

Apparently they do dope test in rugby

Coach Peter de Villiers fears the whole squad may have taken the banned substance and the team's energy drinks have been sent for testing.

Seems to be quite a fashionable drug..and the punishment is going to be harsh I'm sure
The players have the right to request that their 'B' sample be tested, while the penalties they potentially face range from a warning to a two-year ban.

The Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority said in October that nine unidentified Australian athletes had tested positive for methylhexaneamine.

At the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi in October, two Nigerian runners - Osayomi Oludamola and Samuel Okon - also tested positive for the stimulant.

Methylhexaneamine is scheduled to be reclassified as a "specified stimulant" from 1 January 2011, which means it will join the list of drugs that are more susceptible to being taken by mistake.

That means they can be punished less severely if athletes can prove they did not take the drug in order to improve performance.

    Escape route identified already.
Gasping - but somehow still alive !
  • Sounds suspiciously like Bertie's escape route.
    Until January 2011, at least.

Seems to be a popular substance!

The nine aussies are apparently rugby league and aussie rules players and it this drug those 5 jamaican sprinters tested positive for last year. A number of minor league baseball players have been busted too.

Rui Costa (the cyclist not footballer) and his brother also tested positive in June.

It seems the drug is known to be contained in some supplements
ie. http://www.jack-3d.com/ingredients where it is given one of its alternative names 1,3-Dimethylamylamine (Geranium [Stem]) but others simply list geranium oil
