Not sure if I should be posting this here but hey ho. Does anyone make their own energy bars/flapjacks etc. If so any chance of posting up the recipes. Or even pm me with them. That would be great. Cheers Tony.

Oooo...
about 50/50 Golden Syrup/Butter - Melt together in pan with the spice
Oats - Add gradually - No fixed weight, but the more you add the more dry the mix will be
Chopped nuts
Cinnamon, Nutmeg or even vanilla
Finely chopped orange/lemon peel
Then put baking parchment pasted down with butter, put a thin layer of mixture in, then a layer of your favourite jam, then the rest of the mix.
Bake at about 140 until golden brown on the top - watch it regularly, it will burn easily - should be about 15-20 mins.
Let cool
Pull out by the baking parchment
Divide into squares small enough for your jersey pockets and clingfilm once completely cool.
Brush your teeth well afterwardsWhat wheels...? Wheelsmith.co.uk!0 -

+1 on that as I also add my own nuts/seeds into the mix and also a bit of dried fruit too and it tastes bloody great - so much so that quite a few people I know want some when I'm baking a load.Pain hurts much less if its topped off with beating your mates to top of a climb.0 -

I used to make flapjack but these days I prefer to carry some slices of my favourite fruit cake.
225g butter (room temperature)
225g caster sugar
225g mixed sultanas
225g seedless raisins
100g glacé cherries (halved)
225g plain flour
4 large eggs
1 tspn mixed spice
1 tspn salt
1 tblspn brandy
Preheat oven to 150oC
Line and grease 20cm round cake tin
Cream together the butter and sugar until pale and fluffy
Beat the eggs then add to the butter and sugar a little at a time, mixing frequently
Mix the fruit, flour, salt and spice together in a bowl with your hands
Fold the fruit and flour into the egg and sugar mixture with a metal spoon
Add the brandy and mix well
Spoon the mixture into the cake tin and bake for about 1 1/2 hours. The cake is cooked when a skewer inserted into the middle comes out clean.
Turn out onto a wire rack and allow to cool- - - - - - - - - -
