Its not that extreme if your forks are doing a lot of work then you need the best you can afford. The frame could be seriously old but if it fits you, does the job and has the right angles then sounds like a good plan to me.Pain hurts much less if its topped off with beating your mates to top of a climb.0

My On One 456 frame cost me £150, the 150mm RS Revelation Race Air U-Turn forks were circa £350,0 -
there's surely considerably more engineering inside a modern fork with dampers, oil and air/spring rates... cnc parts, extruded parts, seals, bonding and welding...
I mean, you can make a frame out of bamboo. Can't be that hard 8) unless it's carbon of course...0 -

Mine were a bit less than that, carbon 456 £400, revelation RLT ti dual position air maxle lite ~£700 i think.
But then the steel one: Frame £150 new, lefty new £1100!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!0
