It's far too early, but I have to be up as a courier's coming to collect my broken computer somewhere between 8am and 8pm. Already done some shoulder exercises to try to stop the damn things popping out, had a shower and eaten breakfast, now I'm in for a long day of sitting doing uni work in silence so that I can hear the door.

Morning, building up the courage to get out of bed but it feels icy cold. :(

Today will be spent waiting for the arrival of a new dress, and housework plus some uni work. Fun fun fun!
  • Meh!

Did a night ride on Saturday. Got very muddy, poor bike was almost unrecognisable when I got home.

Sunday was going to go out on the road bike but had a nap and finished my book instead.

This morning it took me 15 minutes to de-ice my car. That was not normal ice, but some new hybrid designed specifically for the purpose of p!ssing me off. -3 C, wtf is that all about.

Got a pretty boring day ahead.

    GOOD MORNING YOU MISERABLE LOT!

It may be Monday, but lets have less of the Meh and more of the  .

    Today is sunny! 8)

Okay, so it wasn't that sunny on the ride into work this morning, twas a bit foggy/misty and my brass monkey is a little distressed at not being able to find a welder... Uber-nice ride in though. My drive-train no longer makes all those strange sounds - carrier bag blew into the cassette/rear mech last week and it hadn't been the same since.

I feel the need, the need for Coffee... I shall email a minion requesting such a beverage be brought to the office. There may have to be something bacon related as well as Mrs C failed to make me anything for 2nd Breakfast. She will be punished for this error later...

It's only 08:50 and already I'm getting some sexual harrassement - you can keep your fancy, expensive aftershaves - wear Deepheat in the office!
  • After a small get off from the bike yesterday, spent morning in hospital, and may have torn ligaments in the back of my knee which snapped because they were already knackered from previous motorcycle accidents, and may need surgery soon.

Not a good start to the morning. I now have to mission to uni as well. Gayyyyy.
  • Well proper misty today, And half of the department aren't in today.

But still should be a productive day. Yesterday took the drive finaly to see what the monkey trail was like up Brum way.

Morning all. Lots of meh on the forum this morning - c'mon pull yourselves together! Are we not mountain bikers grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...

    *ahem*

The weekend was a good one with a fantastic Italian meal family get-together on Saturday night. I wolfed down a smoked salmon starter and a pasta/prawn main course then went through everyone else's leftovers (apart from the spag bol bleeuuuuuuuurghhh). Also drank several litres of Nastro, Peroni and Chianti it was 'kin brilliant :D

On the two-wheeled front I am semi-weary after 1.5 killer loops over the weekend but still not too weary to charge batteries during the day in readiness for tonight's etc etc...

    Have a good one

After to total win of the weekend where much cycling was done and many tasty foods were eaten the week has started with a total lack of meh.

In fact, it's almost a perfect win monday. Senior management are all off sick and the local cake shop delivered 8 boxes of cakes here by accident. 2 cinnamon swirls and a big mug of tea later and I'm getting a major sugar rush pulsing through my head.

    woo hoo!

    Morning!

Lovely day, really cold, but still nice enough to ride in shorts and tee! (Although got a few weird looks and some 'are you mental?!' comments.. )

However, I've been laughing all day so far.. the rather naive drama queen in the office actually thought Paranormal Activity was real... (Insert facepalm emoticon), and after saying she was cold, then said 2 seconds later "I think I have Pneumonia.. how do you know if you've got it?":lol:

Ah, it's gonna be one of those days... just looking forward to 4.30, then it's hometime, to a night of Black Ops I think!

    Are you mental?

This morning, I rode to work wearing: bib shorts, tights, base layer, long sleeved top and hi-viz jacket, buff round neck and lower face, another buff on top of head, uber-thick gloves!

    Afternoon All,

Seems like I missed a few ructions while I was away....

Still suffering from jet lag 3 days after getting back from the ar$e end of the world, but cycled into work anyway as 10 days living in hotels and on planes was turning me into a lardy git and needed an exercise fix badly !

It's good to be back 8)

  • Was meant to have a lecture at Uni at 1, but just realised it has been cancelled. Problem is I am alreayd in uni, and have completed the work I was doing, so now have just over an hour to kill before my seminar at 2.

I think going and eating food is my best way of filling up said hour.

 Do you live in the Arctic?! Haha, I'm down south, so it's not particularly cold though, about 2 degrees this morning when I left. By the time I've been on the bike 5 minutes, I'm nice and toasty, whatever the weather. I think I have an internal radiator working overtime though, I never really get cold, was shorts and tee time all through the snow at the start of this year too :P

In that case good sir, may I prescribe a can of MTFU? :P

I would have thought your mo would be helping keep you warm! Maybe the fact I'm bearded helps in keeping me toasty :)

The Mo is doing an excellent job of keeping my lower face warm, although I'm a bit concerned about the extra drag it will be causing and slowing me down. Still, its all good training...

TBH, if I'm just riding, it wouldn't be a problem, but 50% of my ride is stop/start through traffic, so I cool down quite quickly.

Cool, I see why you wore what you did then! I meet 1 set of traffic lights on my commute, the rest I can take shortcuts along back alleys and then off road.. so barely any stopping or starting for me :D

I hate to think of the drag my beard is causing then!! I'm not shaving though, as it's winter, and it keeps my face toasty

Edit: Actually, I don't really worry about drag, I ride my 140mm Enduro to work.. (no space at home for a commuter as well!)
  • 90min before I set off home, the wind has picked up, it's just started hailstoning, and now the bIoody thunder and lightning has started.

    Awesome!
  • Afternoon all,

I’m with the captain, some of you need to cheer up a bit. It could be much worse, you’re name could be Fernando Alonso (what a twunt).

-1 as I left the house this morning apparently, the painfully cold ears seem to confirm this. This is not the season to be a wingnut. Took the rear mech a few shifts up and down to free up, I don’t really fancy having to start my journey every morning by peeing on my bike to get it warmed up.

My boss seems to be in a bit of a grump today, but I have a 2nd interview on Thursday so I don’t care. The hours and journey are potentially a bit sucky, but the pay is yummy so I’ll just have to live with it if I get it.

Need to get my good bike up and running, been sat there for a couple of weeks now after Surrey Hills. Need to order some new brake pads and check out my BB. It feels a little grumbly, can you regrease external BB’s, or are they shot once they start getting gritty? I’d really rather not put a new BB in for the winter. Will it cause any other issues if I just let it grumble for a bit?

The little 1 is still going on about our near car crash Saturday, every time he sees someone the 1st thing he says is “Big car crash! Bang!”

Is it 5 yet? (Not long now it would seem)
