Getting bored of boggy mud already. Where can I go in the south west (within an hour of Bath) where I wont be riding in 6 inch deep mud?

Trail centres are great fun but sometimes I prefer the challange of natural trails.
I thought the Quantocks would be proper boggy, would be nice on a clear winter morning up on the ridge, riding as many coombes as possible.

well you didn't say that did you  :lol:
  • At present the quantocks 'aint too bad, theres the usual bits at the bottom of some of the popular coombes ie Hodders and holford but on the whole its draining nicely - :) Tuesday lunchtime there was not a soul about !

I remember walking down from the top of the black mountain horseshoe and to get down quick in a storm we walked down the hairiest downhill I have ever seen & it was very long. Can't remember where it was exactly, somewhere near Waun Fach.
Brecons should be good at least until it gets cold & icy.
  • Alot of natural trails becoems bogs at this time of year mind.

This is where trail centers are great as they don't wear half as bad in the crap. SOme of our local trails look awful at the moment due to people slogging throguh in mud its cutting them up pretty bad :(

I still stick alot to centers in the winter just for these reasons.
