Hi
Can anyone recommend a good pair of trousers now it is beginning to get a bit colder and wetter.
I currently wear skins a400 tights and they seem to keep me warm enough at the moment but when it rains they get pretty cold, i have started wearing so cheap waterproof trousers over the top which kind of do the job but are to wide through the leg and make me sweat about as much as it is raining!!

I use rainlegs.

They go your leggings to keep the top half of your legs dry a bit like cowboy things, they only cover from over your knees upwards and are open at the back of your legs.I find that my shins do not get that wet.
I wear these over either tights ,or for cold weather on hill bikesters

Ive been using Montane Atomic DT waterproof over-pants for a year and find them quite good.0

I use montane featherlite pants - they are not waterproof just pertex, so very lightweight and breathable, but windproof.
Saying that, I have used nikwax tx.direct to improve the time it takes before wetting out, they are pretty good in even heavy rain for the hour or so of my commute. They are still highly breathable.
Underneath that I have again used nikwax to proof a pair of tracksters.
It is only useful in winter.0 -
these from wiggle, the eVENT material is awesome

I've just bought a pair of Endura Venturi II waterproof trousers. They're not cheap but made of a similar fabric to eVent (the previous model were made of eVent but these ones don't actually say that) which is incredibly breathable. Worn them a couple of times and they seem great. I tried a few different brands and the fit seems to vary massively so you might just need to try a few and see what feels best. I also tried some Gore ones which were similarly pricey but didn't really fit me. I'm happy to spend the money on a decent pair if it keeps me cycling to work over the winter, and I'm sure I'll use them out on my mountain bike too.Offroad: Canyon Nerve XC8 (2012)
