ive been banned for a disagreement me and sonic had in PMs, he asked a retarded question in response to a reply i had made to a thread and i made a glib remark which he deleted and told me about in a PM.

i told him he was a sheepsknacker and then he started pissing and whinning and threatening to ban me to which i replied "do your worst" and he spilt his toys and banned me, but it appears i can still post messages which seems strange

however, when i try and log in, i get a message telling me i am banned but there is another way.........................

    i cant send PMs though

    unbannable?

time to speak some sweary naked truths!
  • I, for one, do not support this banning.
You (Sheep) need to meet up with Sonic and sort out your differences. You bring the lime...he can bring the string

    I find that quite amusing.

was it anything to do with the 26er vs 29er debate by any chance?

This was the 'retarded' question I asked:
So why aren't you riding a 24 inch wheel? Is 26 the goldilocks wheel?

You've said 29 offers no benefit over 26, but does 26 offer any benefit over 24? Personally I think that 26 hits that middle 'best of both worlds', and even the other sizes can compensate, but definitely are differences between them that some might prefer be it the way they roll, agility, strength.

To be met with the response to mind my own business, and stop being a plonker and to stop asking silly questions. I PM'd him a very polite message saying that I wanted to keep the WMB forum free of stuff like this and to keep it to the CC, and was interested in furthering the discussion on wheel sizes and was interested in his views on the smaller wheel size, given as he thought they had advantages. I deleted his original post.

He wasn't having it, saying I was sticking my beak in,. After a discussion he got more agressive and insulting, seemed to think he was above been questioned in a forum, and was given a warning. He continued the abuse so I banned him.

Put simply the mods and admin won't tolerate behaviour like this, nobody is above the forum. I am polite to everyone, and expect others to follow suit.

Sorry it had to be this way, but others also agree his trolling behaviour is out of hand.

So if you manage to post again Sheeps, stick to the truth of what really happened?

PS Yeehaa is not banned, this is absolutely nothing to do with him, but an admin felt that the thread should be unstickied.
  • Meh!

While I am not saying one is right over the other I can't help thinking this has been blown up out of all proportion. We have all had arguments and heated exchanges on here at one point or another. If everyone got banned for unpleasant exchanges I think there would be about 5 members left (and 4 of them asking what the best bike to buy on a budget of £300 is). The fact that it's in PM should also be taken into consideration. If someone is linking to nude pictures or openly harassing people on the forum then fair enough. If it's an insulting message (or more) in private message then it's just a glorified domestic. Sheep might have been a fanny to you but he done so in private (and after you contacting him initially...had you not contacted him in first place this wouldn't be an issue).
As I said I'm not taking sides as it's between you guys (and appreciate you must have had some shit thrown at you to take this action) but I'm just questioning if it's all really necessary.

Is it a permanent ban? Or for a fixed period?

We have been there, but as I said I was polite - I contacted him to explain why I deleted his post, which was out of order. But rather than engage in the thread, he thought the best course of action was to attack me instead. I warned him to stop, and he didn't - he pretty much banned himself.
  • Obviously I haven't read the exchange but I don't doubt you were polite for a minute. All I am saying is if the exchange was done in private and you already knew he was responding in a manner suggesting he was super pissed would it not have been better to have stepped back and left it at that (after all you had deleted his post and told him you had done so).
