Rock Shox Tora SL: No rebound, No Lock Out. Common?

Has anyone else had issues with the Rock Shox Tora SL?
I have it fitted on my new Focus MTB and nothing on them seems to work.
The rebound seemingly has no effect, and the Lock Out doesn't, well, lock out!
Is this common? :(

Working with Wiggle to try and get it sorted out just now, but they want me to:
remove the fork, send it back, wait 2 weeks for Rock Shox to diagnose it, return it to me and then I'll have to refit it again. Sound like at least 4 weeks worth of back-and-forth to me!

Can I strip and fix it myself? Is this a common Tora problem? :?:
Any advice much appreciated.

what damping does it have? what spring?

a Tora SL can be anything.

  • Sorry, Coil Springs.
    Does that help?

If under warranty send it back, stuff might need replacing that costs ££ so not a wise course of action to open it up yourself unless you are willing to risk it.

As for what's wrong who knows, blown seal, not enough oil, mechanical connection to the external controls no longer "connected", something wrong on the inside of a sealed cartridge thus ordinarily inaccessible, could be anything really, but if you will be needing parts other than simple o-rings I could see you regretting DIY when you have the option.

  • Question answered then.
    Thanks!

Some Toras have been known for blowing a seal out the bottom of the fork, do you get full travel?
  • Thanks for all your help.
Looks like it's going back to Wiggle. They've agreed shipping costs and to do the work in their workshops with fast turnaround.
Not sure if that's code for, 'we'll just replace it'. ;)
