hi i am looking for a good(but cheap) place to stay near glentress and then whinlatter on my way home can anyone piont my in the right direction for a place for me and me mate.

For the Whinlatter try the youth hostel half way down Derwent water. This is close by to Keswick and not far from Whinlatter. I recomend it for its' superb location and the chance to stay in one of the lakes' fine old mansions it is relatively cheap and easy to drop into Keswick or down the valley to the Scafell pub.I'm going to blow the bank on a new build ( within reason ) NOW DONE!!

The youth hostel is in Longthwaite Nr Rosthwaite in Borrowdale but there's also one in Keswick town centre but it's usually booked up.

Can't beat the welcome here. Pubs just around the corner as well as bike storage. breakfast is excellent and a couple of moiles from GT.
