Dear shredders...

I've got 2 weeks in Thailand in December. Can anyone recommend any decent routes or tours?

Ill be based in Bangkok, but prepared to travel around. Looking for either all day routes, 2-3 day routes, focus on seeing good sights, scenery but will consider anything & if there's some good challenging technical off road then all the better.

So far ive found the following websites:

http://www.mountainbiketoursthailand.com/

http://www.spiceroads.com/destinations/thailand

But any tips or first hand experience from you guys would be most welcome!

  • Thailand is not the best place to ride an MTB - it's simply just too hot and unrelenting sun.

I was swetting in places I did not know possible on a moped just having to pull back the accelorator.

Hmm. Yes the heat might be a problem. Maybe i'll just lie on the beach all day checking out hot chicks and drinking cold beer.

  • Yes, far too hot.

If you are determined though, there are some long unsurfaced tracks in Kanchanaburi Province and in Chiang Mai/Mae Hong Son Provinces.

Yes, check the chicks are chicks before thinking they are hot :? otherwise it plays havoc with the mind.

Also - drink the beer quickly when it's cold, cos it doesn't stay that way long.
