Hi, thought i'd share this with any other commuters out there,

(sorry about the photo sizes)

just spent half an hour making these great lights

what you need - go to PoundWorld (they have 90 stores, i'm sure you can get the same thing at most pound shops)

you can buy these for £1 each (including button batteries)

the pack says they have power for 10,000 hours.

with your final pound buy the 6 pack of electrical tape, (2 black, 1 * red, blue, green and yellow.

1st thing is to snap of the plastic clips, next up is to cover the things in tape, i used a bit of clear plastic to cover he front light and used the red tape for the rear, the black tape should waterproof things as much as a £1 torch needs water proofing, you can loosely tape over the on off switch (button) to seal the switch.

then tape to helmet - job done

the leds are quite bright, for a special touch i've added a bit of yellow tape to show where switch button is. they have 3 modes, off/on/flash. Barely adds any weight to the helmet, they are quite low profle and look pretty neat methinks.

Should see me till christmas or possibly the whole winter, hope this is of help

(get and adult to help cutting tape if needed)

Red sweet wrappers will work much, much better than electrical tape.
  • What are the lights supposed to be for ?
  • they clip onto the peak of a baseball cap,

for camping, fishing etc probably not much use for baseball ironically

Not just buy the headlamps and rear lights that they sell for £1 each and save loads of hassle?

  • Perfact thanks, just ordered some, I have a vidcam mounted at the front of the helmet wondered what light I could use at the front, this will do nicely for behind the camera.

Looks a bit too Heath Robinson to me.
    More problems but still living....
  • The led bulbs may last for 10,000 hours, the batteries won't. You'd be lucky to get a few hours out of each battery.

I presume these lights are to be seen and not to see with?
