Saw this by chance when clicked on alink to the Putz case. Written by a DailyMail reporter .............

The DM is a really loathsome nasty newspaper. Can't some one lance the DailyMail?

Al Pacino has a growth on his scalp, so feckin' what!!!!!! If anything he deserves concern least it be malignant, not ridicule.

What have the no mark DM reporters ever done except write nasty, spiteful and inaccurate copy?

The Daily Mail. Regarded by Alan Partiridge as "possibly the best newspaper in the world". Says it all really.

It's the content of the report that is so vindictive don't you think?

Yes, Al Pacino is indeed a celebrity, but first and foremost he is a top actor because he possesses acting ability and talent, playing lead roles many many successful iconic films. He's not some wanabee talentless air head celebrity which you are trying to infer.

The article is just plain nasty.

The Daily Mail doesn't report News, just prints idle coffee-machine gossip.

It is not meaningful or responsible journalism.

All their articles are designed to inflame opinion on something or other.
The aim seems to be to create controversy at every opportunity.
    They criticise anything and everything.
Every column is tailored to infuriate.
It is a very unhealthy read.

They do have a half-decent science & tech section though. I think that must be the one part of the newspaper which employs journalists to write objectively.

Shame the science section doesn't have any influence over the science based stories in the main paper then. Ben Goldacre is regularly fuming about their "bad science".

Do you have something against coffee machines? It's not their fault.

it's a tabloid, hence the more opinionated the better. it follows that you either read it for jokes, or for confirming your own beliefs.
basically, don't read it if you don't like it, it's bad for your health.

I read an online article of theirs this week, it was complete junk. Sensational headline which toward the end of the article was referred to as a "might be true". I submitted a comment but they didn't publish it (or any others) and now are no longer accepting comments on the article... They are a disgrace to the industry.
