Ratchet Clicking Noise in 3rd Gear - Bad Boy 3

Hello forum,
I have just bought a Canondale Bad Boy 3 2010 and so far really like it. There is one issue which is concerning me though - whenever I am peddling whilst in 3rd gear on the hub changer I can hear the same noise as if I was freewheeling but with the clicks further apart.
I have read that this is normal for some hub changers but not for mine (SRAM i-motion).
Can anyone shed any light on this for me? Is this something I need to get fixed or is it perfectly normal? Does anyone else with this bike have the same issue?
