Is it allowed to post ebay links for things being sold on ebay in the classified section? I can't find any rules against it but nobody seems to be doing it.

Cheers :)

  • As far as i know it is now allowed, there used to be a rule against it but the sticky thread telling you about this was removed a while back from the top of the classified section.

I have sene posts of ebay links without any mods doing anything about it, so I presume it is now allowed! Probably should have been a sticky or something, or an addition to the general rules seen as there was such a big scene made when ebay links where banned.

what i do is advertise it on here and on ebay but dont link the 2, this way you arent breaking any unwritten rules and if it sells here i dont have to pay ebay final value fees as i just cancel the ebay advert.

    simples.

people do but be careful of how the fees work out. i have sold a few things recently and had to pay fees for the payment. if you agree with the buyer to do the deal as a gift, neither of you gets chrged a fee.

mind you, paypal offers no protection for the buyer in this way so its worthwhile seeing if the seller is a decent sort, how you do that is a difficult one.

There are still fees on Paypal gift over a certain amount, but you can get the buyer to pay them.
No help if anything goes wrong unlike std Paypal.
Easiest thing is to arrange an electronic transfer between accounts. No fees. Not sure what happens if there's a problem, but what chance is there of that with all the lovely people on here?

Being poor and generally broke I pay for everything with a card.
Then I mug little old ladies on pension day to pay the card.
