Shimano M486 hydraulic discs - Adjustability

I take it the above brakes on the Anthem X4 2010 are non adjustable and here lies my problem the front brake lever is fine,good bite and travel but the rear comes about 1/2 way back to the bars before anything happens.
Could this be that the back needs bleeding ?
I've not opened the reservoir cover to check the level of the fluid - could this be the issue - lack of fluid ??

check the pads for moving the disc. adjust the reach away from the bars and then when the feel comes back adjust to suit."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

I take it by "adjusting the reach" do you mean the small allen bolt inside the lever ?0

what exactly do you ean by non-adjustable?
the symptoms you describe - pulling lever and then finding it moves 1/2 way before the brake grips is classic symjptom of air on the system, more common on the rear due to longer hose.
yes, checking and topping up the brake fluid in the reservoir followed by bleeding should sort them out,
I've found that hydraulice brakes do not like to be kept in any position other than vertical e.g. transported on the back of a volvo and have exhibited the symptoms you describe.0 -

when you are bleeding the brakes, undo the clamp for the lever and adjust so that the reservoir is horiztonal
sequence is:
pull on lever, open then clsoe the bleed nipple, release lever.
check the fluid level and top up casue when you release the lever, fluid is drawn into the syustme and if it gets too low, air gets drawn into the system andthe whole bleeding process takes forever (don;t ask how I know that).
with shimano brakes, you can get 3 or 4 pulls on th lever before the level needs topping but check anyways.
use 5 mm silicone air line hose from aquarium shop - if you need a shjot lenght, I can pop a bit to you via post.
