After a lengthy delay in confirming that the legendary Spanish Pyrneen sportive would take place in 2011, the date has now been released as Sat June 18th.
Like last year, there will be a pre-inscription process and then a draw of names. Last year this saw 18,000+ people trying to get one of the 8500 places. The event itself saw 2500 failing to finish in 2010 due to really tough weather conditions - it can be wickedly cold and wet or brilliantly warm and sunny and sometimes both in the same day. That's the big mountains for you.
