Glyncorrwg has a greate cafe, but the visitor centre at the Afan end of the forest is only so-so - the lack of beer and the canteen-style food make me feel like I'm back in school. Where do people go for decent calorie dense grub after riding at Afan? Are there any reliable pubs nearby that'll serve food on a Saturday afternoon?

Yeah, it's worth the 15 min drive to the other center.

The food is ever better at Afan lodge (half way between the centres -ish) and has an open fire and big comfy seats, but its a resturant and priced as such.
