Mobile number only, vague address, "office" photo that could be taken anywhere- I'd be more than a little wary personally.

However, that's only "standard procedure" for evaluating web companies for me, not from experience of them in particular
  • Based fairly local to me, importers for Scapin and another italian brand. No dealings myself but have heard good things about them...industrial park, just off the A14 at Rougham, hence anonymous looking building.

I was very close to getting a Scapin of Tom at Avanti and only reason I didn't was because I got a really really good deal on a Cannondale Super Six Hi Mod frame.
I think the Blake looks a great frame and good range of colours on all models.
Owner Tom was very quick with response to emails and called me back quickly.
Delivery times from Italy were very good and it's claimed frames are actually made there if that bothers you.
Part of me wishes I hadn't got such a deal on the Cannondale as I would have loved to have bought a bike off them.
Next time definetly (which knowing me might not be that far away !)
Give Tom a call and then decide.

Which frame were you thinking of ?

  • I like the look of the Eys and the Blake.

Trouble is it would probably take a 4.5 hour drive down to view the bikes and I am not sure I could order of spec without a test ride or at least sitting on one.

What groupset would you go for. Would you stick to Italian or consider SRAM etc.

Gone from Chrous 11speed to Sram Force, saved £250 if I'd bought Chorus again and very happy with the Sram performance so far.
