My 12 year old Marin Hawk Hill has been treated as a hybdrid and, whilst well used and maintained, has done no serious trail bashing. That all changed on Sunday, and whilst being kind, my fellow riders doubted the wisdom  of continuing to attempt the trails we were on on my bike. Any advice on what would be a good strong beginner's mountain bike to continue my new found interest. Might stretch to £1,000 if needs must. Desperate not have the 'all the gear and no idea' though.
Thanks in advance for any help.....Pete

  • Check out the Gt range......I have heard lots of guys.......sonice especially rave about how tough and strong there frames are,

I have a GT Outpost 09............Not sure if i done right or wrong.....I bought the bike, got the nice strong, sturdy frame, then added new poarts and tarted it up as parts failed or as i had spare cash,
A bike is only as good as the rider!
