Stripping paint off Time ATAC pedals

Strange request maybe, but here goes: My black Time ATACs look crap because scraping from the cleats scratches the paint off in places. I want to just get rid of all the paint and get back to the bare metal.
I have stripped the pedals of the axles and springs, leaving just the aluminium bodies. I spent all night wire-wooling one of them, and though it looks pretty good it hasn't removed all of the paint.
SO my question: Is there a commercially-available chemical I can soak my pedal bodies in, in order to strip the paint?
Thanks

nitromors?
That's what I use for stripping alloy wheels.
Nasty stuff though so wear marigolds and neutralise it in lots of water when done.
You could also try your GFs/wives/mums/sisters/your nail varish remover as it should be acetone which will soften most paint.0
