As a train driver and a cyclist I gain about 20 extra grey hairs at this time of the year!
Out for a ride in the morning ran over some leaves that were hiding a nice pothole, luckily held on to it but a severe readjustment of wedding tackle was the result. Then in the afternoon at work went to apply brakes and they locked up and locked up well and good no matter what, the resultant 1.5 mile skid didn't do the wheels much good at all!

If you thought leaves were bad... try sea weed.

lost the back wheel on it yesterday and went arse over tit. :(
  • + 1 for seaweed. A carpet of the stuff greeted me along the seafront this morning. Ended up having to walk.

We need this topic to be automatically generated every October.
    Other Auto-generate topics to include:

-Low sun at Spring/Autumn, cycling into the sun on a wet road makes you invisible.
    -ICE! Its slippery stuff.

-Clocks go back, get some lights.
    -COLD! wear some tights
(maybe combined into Lights go ON, Tights go UP)

    Leafal.

    EDIT:
On a serious note though, whenever I've slowed down behind some one to over take them on a shared bicycle path, I always make a fool of myself accelerating hard on wet leaves. Most of the time I manage to hang on though.

The a road near to me which has a nasty little incline. In winter it's constantly running with water and after a frozen night it's a deadtrap. The leaves are already making it deadly but there's worse to come.
