just bought this, cost 150 quid, i know it can be had cheaper online but sometimes i like things as soon as i get the impulse to buy them.

what're your thoughts?

this is my 3rd exilim camera and its a bit fanboyish but i couldnt resist.

is it foolish to like a camera cause i think it looks nice?

either way, it has 10x optical zoom which was the real draw for me so i look forward to seeing how it performs.

  • Expect to get whipped by the DSLR fanbois!
Good camera Sheeps and the 10x Optical Zoom is great for a camera that size.
  • Good choice on a Casio. Got a Casio Exilim EX8 compact, great camera and has worked perfectly :D

just sold some wheels to pay for the camera, bonus.

can anyone tell me what the iso setting does and should it be something i adjust myself o should let the auto function thing do it itself?

Higher ISO can be handy for sport, but most of the time you can probably just set it to auto.

I have mine set to 200 unless the lighting is really bad (200 is the "native" setting for my camera, any lower and you lose picture quality. Yes, that does sound counterintuitive).

Doesn't look too bad for the price. 8)

Looks good for the money, good zoom for a camera that small, plus HD vid.

i was very neary going to buy a finepix s1600 like the wife has (and sonic does too iirc) but i wanted summat a bit more portable and pocket sized.

it strikes me as a good camera for the money having doen a quick bit of reading up on it and i really like it as an object.

Yeah, love my Fuji, so good for the money - but as you say, a bit more porky. My Dad just got the 18x zoom version for 150.

wife has taken some amazng pics with her camera, it was about 110 quid and it is really brilliant. i really like the way you can stitch 3 images together for a panoramic image.

The panorama function is superb, takes seconds. Took this in the peaks:
