Hi,
I'm thinking of purchasing a cycle carrier probably car roof carrier - just wanted to know if placing bike on roof / securing it etc was a one man job ?
Looking to cycle further a field new locations etc.
I have a specialized secteur
Any advice greatly received - will be purchasing roof rails off ebay then looking for a cycle carrier if it is the best option.

you should be fine with a reasonably light bike like that. I lift my road and CX bikes (even if covered in tons of mud!) onto the roof carrier on top of our CRV without any issue by myself and its a lot taller than most cars. I struggled a little when I did it the other weekend after crashing and really damaging my ribs, but still did it solo.
Unless you're 4' something tall or have a disability that prevents you lifting something then I dont see a problem.Your Past is Not Your Potential...0 -
Thanks for the reply - never used roof bars for anything lol so helpful in getting an opinion.

I've got a Thule bike rack for roof bars, but I'll wait until new Audi arrives, as I can't reach the top of the VW Tuareg! :oops:Start with a budget, finish with a mortgage!0
