Bought a Mongoose Otero for some parts for my GT Ruckus - but not sure I should keep it as a cheap thrasher! Simple, solid frame with some nice touches inc an adjustable travel QR.

I'd keep it Paul, sure it's not a 'top-end' frame but it's still a great little frame regardless....
Id kit it out in Deore/Tora etc... simple, effective and cheap.
You wouldnt make a lot of dough on it anyway, so it's defo worth more in your possession than selling it.0 -
I bought the whole bike new for 400 quid, with Toras, X5 9 speed and hydro discs. Frame weighs 7.4lbs with shock, so pretty good considering!0

I know, that was a killer deal!
Was that from Paul's (I have bought 3 bikes from them now - still cannot be beat)0 -
Yeah! Needed some new discs and a full drivetrain for the Ruckus. The discs are about 130 quid to buy new, and a full X5 drivetrain with Octalink crank at least another 150. So if I can't sell the rest of the bike for 120 there is something wrong!0

Keep it!! Would build up to a cool little bike I'd think.... loving the White 46-esk QR travel adjust!!I like bikes and stuff0

I thought it was black at first, but is dark brown! Might have to sell the Ruckus frame...0

you could fit a cheap taper steererd fork to it as well."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Got 3 Toras to choose from lol0

Yeah, thanks for that.0

What travel is it (min and max) and what fork does it take? With a nice shock (unless the fitted one is OK?!) and a good, but sensible spec it could be such a lush play bike... It looks pretty tough, almost like a 4X bike... if the travel goes down to 100mm you could run it as a slopestyle bike with a Pike or something.... I really like the look of it!!!I like bikes and stuff0

Travel is 2.5-4.5 inch - so could suit what I want perfectly ie a short travel platform just to take the sting out.
Shock is fine, they are 150 quid on their own!0 -
....but where would you get the parts to build it up.....????
Hold on, I know, you could get a cheap Mongoose Otero and strip it....0 -

Maybe you could get WMB to use the frame as the new "test rig"? A frame that all the bits under test get bolted on?
That way you get new bits every so often and its free ... ?? :P0 -
Already have some test bits to test0
