What to do? Fork swap or 2nd hand commuter

I have a tidy Dawes Watoga that I commute on. It's a nice ride and reasonably quick with Big Apples but it's time for a change.

Should I swap the clunky Marzocci bouncer fork or look for a second hand steel bike for my up hill and down dale commute?
