From memory this has been covered before, and allegedly, its Willy er.
Sounds wrong to me but I'm sure it'll eventually stretch to half a dozen pages of incomprehensible explanations.
Included in this is Ess ram or Shhram Campag nolo or Campanolo etc etc etc. And is it campy or campag as an abbreviation?0 -

I worked with this Italian brand and can tell you that it is pronounced Willy er. In the beginning I asked the people how to "say" the brands name and this was their answer. They know it best for sure

There is normally no 'W' in Italian - only for loan words. However, if this highly credible source is to be believed, the word is an acronym (don't know why he mentions Calabrese, as Wilier hail from Vicenza) and the W is shorthand for 'viva':The 'Wilier' in Wilier Triestina is an acronym for an Italian patriotc slogan of the period: “Viva l’Italia liberata e redenta” (roughly, 'long live a liberated and redeemed Italy'). The 'W' is a short-hand form of 'viva' used in Italy. 'Wilier' is pronounced "Vee-Lee-Air".

That's like saying (and I'm sorry for the use of this reference) Wagner, instead of 'Vagner' (X-Factor muppet) I'm sure that the Americans would call him 'Wagner', but they're wrong. We pronounce the French capital Paris, but it's pronounced 'Paree'
It's pronounced as the manaufacturer says it. Surely, the best way to find out it to ask the manufacturer or distributor ?

Half this thread are speculating, some of the rest are stirring it up.
Both the Italian makers, and the UK distributors will confirm V, but not a harsh one. Call ATB yourself and see rather than guessing.

Chapeau for finding one of the very few words in French that is not a loan word, that also begins with a W and is pronounced /w/. But as all things Belgian, it's pretty much the exception that proves the rule

Generally though, for me, the ''correct'' pronunciation is not an absolute but instead is the most accepted version within a linguistic community. So in French, Paris is pronounced /pari/ and is correct. In English, the /s/ is voiced, and is also correct. Usage is king.
So, if North Americans say Willy-er and Europeans say Vill-ee-ay, both are correct.0 -
