Turbo training DVD's

Does anyone have an opinion on training dvd's to be used with a turbo trainer?
Particularily this one:
http://www.wiggle.co.uk/cts-train-right ... e=googleps
Do they actually help at all, or are they just something cool to watch while you suffer? Will they develop my climbing specificaly? Or is it a gimmick?
I'm just looking for some motivation to get on the turbo because the weather is nasty
Thanks.

Yeh, I bought a sufferfest video, but It failed to download 3 times because of a dodgey connenction and they won't let me download it again (it's obviously got a limited number of times it can be downloaded) Thats a tenner down the pan0

I like the CTS ones and yes, they motivate me, I don't have a structured plan or a coach but I feel I've had a good workout having done these. The downside is you need a collection or you would get seriously bored with 1 or 2.0

Do you have a climbing one? If so which one? Is it any good?
Thanks0 -

Never heard of Sufferfest but like the sound of them.
I usually just watch a movie!
If I've been off the bike for a while, would the Sufferfest ones really kill me?0 -
+squillions for the sufferfest. I have some CTS and some of the cycleops ones, and there's no comparison.0

For those owners of Sufferfest.
Am I being a complete idiot here??
Downloaded Revolver and Angels no problem.
Burned them onto a DVD+R disc no problem.
Try to play them in my portable DVD player - problem!
Said it's an unsupported format i.e. MP4.
I knew it was MP4 but on the Sufferfest troubleshooting guide it says:
Are these downloads or DVDs? What can I watch them on? — These are downloads. They’re in an .mp4 format, which means you can play them on just about any computer, laptop, ipod, blackberry, iphone, PSP, iPad, television (by connecting a media player) or whatever. They will not, however, play in a DVD player. If you want to watch them on a DVD, then you can burn them to DVD yourself. You can copy it for your own use, too – so if you want to download it onto one computer and then transfer it to another you own, you’ll be able to do that.
What's went wrong?

I've been using some Spinervals DVD's that I have borrowed off a friend. Really good but really hard work. I like them as it tells you which gear to be in and gives you a proper work out - you know you have been beasted. Can't comment on the others mentioned above but would definately recommend the Spinervals series.0

If the file is an MP4 then it will not work on your DVD player without converting the video format. You ideally need to get a utility to convert it to an MPEG file format. Once you have done that use your burning software to create a "Video DVD" rather than a data DVD. That should then play on most DVD players.
there are loads of guides on how to do this. Just google MP4 to DVD tutorials.....

Well I managed to get the sufferfst video to work after some troubles getting it to play. It looks good. But it was late at night so couldn't actually do it. I look forward to suffering before my lunch this afternoon.
I have the Angels one because I like climbing (dunnno why, lol). Does anyone have an opinion on whether this video actually helps your climbing specificaly, or is it just a good workout? How elevated should my front wheel be and does having your front wheel elevated help with climbing muscles? (I would imagine it does because of the position but I'm not sure)
I'm decent on the hills already and crap on the flats because I'm rather light so it would make sense to have a video that helps me with in this aspect  . But I enjoy hills, and would probably enjoy them more if I was faster.

Elevate it 6-10cm from level, wheelbase is just over a metre so this will equate to very roughly 6-10% incline...0
