Good luck guys and gals with the commute home.
I fully expect Maryhill Road to be like a mini (or not so mini) Baghdad.
Rockets left, right and centre, Roman Candles, Catherine Wheels.... the lot.

Jusy hope my Klingon Cloaking Device is working and I get out unscathed.

  • I came in by public transport today. I don't wish to die.

  • Just another day riding through Croydon  !

Fireworks may take the Chavs' minds off their usual rotten behaviour.

Personally I don't think fireworks should be available to the general public for the very reason that they are crap and a waste of money; unless you are going to a properly funded and well organised display they tend to be, well, shit.

It's also Diwali today; double bubble.

  • Last time I took part in a home firework display it was 1988 and I was living in a house of students. One of our housemates declined to take part so we aimed all the fireworks at his open bedroom window.

    Need I say more?

    Ban them!!

If only - one night would be fine - but it usually starts in mid October and ends around Xmas.

I think it's laudable that the entire contry puts on a firework display for my Dad's birthday.

It looks like the heavens are going to open in London for commuter time, I'm banking on it

My daughter, born on the 4th, pretty much grew up believing that all the fireworks were for her, although she got wise to that one about the same time she realised the letters from Santa were written by me.

I was worried that cycling home through SE London would be dodgy, I remember last year a few kids throwing bangers. Fortunately it was raining so fairly quiet.

You didn't have to make your way through the crowds on Clapham Common - hundreds of dithering peds, interspersed with several speeding ambulances, presumably rushing to help those who have forgotten to let go of their fireworks. Too me nearly an hour and a half to get home.

  • Took the lads and lasses out to a big fireworks display had hot dogs etc, watched a rather nice display. after getting every one home, had a nice ride though Bushy park in the dark was rather wet but fun with various fireworks zipping into the sky.
