V brakes to disc brakes

I am toying with upgrading my Carrera Vulcan after christmas with a set of Hydraulic disc brakes. I can see the kits you can buy (levers, rotor and caliper) and they are quite resonably priced.
How does the rotor attach to the wheel, is there a standard fitting on hubs (i assume it fits there) or do I need to buy a new hub (in which case I would hold off a bit longer).

You will need specific hubs that have fittings for rotors.
Also - I haven't checked whether your frame does or not, but that will need to have the appropriate fittings to mount the calipers as well0 -
Yeah my frame does have the fittings for the calipers on it0
