That daft poem got me thinking... I hope you like this

(to the tune of "In the Bleak Midwinter")

In the bleak midwinter, not so long ago
Seat was hard as iron, frozen to the bone
Cars were halted, halted so, cars upon cars
In the bleak midwinter not so long ago

My steed, cold cannot stop him, nor rain constrain
The cold and dark shall flee away at the turn of chain
In the bleak midwinter thermal tights sufficed
With the call of SCR, I shall be enticed

Enough of this, the wind and rain, all night and day
Roads of ice, and puncture and blocked bikeway
Enough of this, that many fall before
The cold and dark and fairy that all abhor

Cars and Lorries may have stopped here
Noise and fumes filled the air
But the cyclist only, on his quiet steed
Away from all this he'll be carried

Why do I do this, tired as I am?
If I ever worried, I would join the jam
If I were a lazy man, I would drive my car
Yet why do I cycle: it's in my heart
Chunky Cyclists need your love too! :-)
