Hi all,
I've bought my first road bike since my paper round back in the early nineties.
I'm interested in going on a few rides, possibly joining a club close to wear I live - SW19.
Any ideas? I'm not a "racer", I do 15 miles a day commuting and looking for something geared towards a novice I guess. I did the Palace to Palace in 3 hours though without really pushing it, so i guess I have average fitness on the bike.
Appreciate any tips!

Pretty good, we've had loads and loads over the last year or so and seem to get a few most weeks. There is usually a short beginers ride to Effingham, Ranmore Box Hill (tea & cake) and home, it may be worth getting a few session of three laps or more round Richmond Park in but you should be fine - you won't be the worst we've ever had by a long way!!
If you do go you'll soon notice an improvement in your fitness, group riding really brings you along. As with all clubs bring spare tube, pump (and know how to use them) and some cash. If you join the club forum is a good source of ad hoc runs, advice and general rubbish0
