my advice is not, there is loads of country side but no trails. the country side is wild as you like and littered with mine fields.

ive been twice now and have tried to ride but there is no where really to ride if you are a keen off road cyclist.

    where will you be living?
  • Not unless it is a MTB or a cyclocross with xtra knowble tyres. By the way you will witness for yourself the new meaning of "middle of nowhere!" and then there's the wind......!"

  • I assumed that by posting it in the mtb section it would have been pretty Obv I was thinking of taking a MTB.

Been twice, they used to have some MTBs at the Phys Ed for taking out, Diamond Backs (this was a while back - no doubt they're rusted husks now). But honestly, it's not a great place to ride, even worse than a trail center.

    The gym(s) are decent though.
  • Been twice myself, 2003 and 2008. I did a bit of biking there but it's really not worth it. The gym does have some new bikes which are semi OK. Take a very good camera and your drinking pants!!

    LOL :)

Almost no roads, lots of bogs and as previously mentioned, loads of stuff that goes bang lying around!

I've not been back since '82 but it's not the first place I'd think of for an MTB ride!

I'd stick with gym work (they have a gym there now???) or running.

the gym at Mt. pleasant complex is tip top, loads of weights, loads of cv machines (as in dozens of everything) the runners can sync with your ipod and the pool is decent.
