Hi.
Recently i managed to break my rear mech. im not sure how, i was cycling normally on the road and it just gave up for reasons un beknown to man.
the mech was a shimano xt, now im a very aggressive rider and im wondering if it is worth getting the xtr rear mech to replace it or if i should just buy another xt mech?
any help would be great and much appreciated.
Thank you.
Paul

If you're likely to break it again get SLX or XT.

XTR will only cost you more, no tougher!

XTR kit is designed lighter for weight-weenie XC riders/racers, and is not particularly any more durable than XT in the mech department

XTR mechs are at least double the price of XT - not something you want in the back of your mind every ride if you're worried about damaging it!

I'd stick with XT, or even go for SLX.

    Perfectly sufficient.

Don't see the point in XTR unless you've more money than sense, are a big showoff, or specifically need the weight-saving.
