Winter Socks.. not sealskinz

I'm giving due consideration on buying me some lovely winter socks
a present I'm looking at the following
http://www.rapha.cc/winter-sock-pack
http://www.wiggle.co.uk/assos-winter-plus-cycling-socks/
http://www.wiggle.co.uk/castelli-sock-bundle/
Anyone got any experience of these? I don't particularly like the feel of the sealskinz socks I've tried, feels like a wetsuit
Anything I've missed to reward my toes for being schlepped through the oncoming winter?
Cheers
Also these amused me

I don't get cycling socks, other than sealskinz which I've never seen but understand are completely waterproof, what's different about these socks than, say a pair of sports socks from a £6.99 bundle from some cheapo sports shop?Do not write below this line. Office use only.0

Got through last winter's commutes with Assos early winter and Castelli winter socks
http://castelli-cycling.com/en/products/detail/223/ (can't see them on wiggle or PBK at the moment)
For really cold days I have some Assos winter ones*. I used them on the last two editions of HOTA and my feet were toasty. I was wearing overshoes as well, natch

To be honest I rarely wear socks at all! I never wear them on the commute and I barely ever wear them round the office at work - I just go barefoot. People think I'm weird but they get used to it. I only wear socks at the gym, if I'm out and about and on long club rides...Do not write below this line. Office use only.0 -

All those socks seem rather expensive
My winter socks this year are Aldi merino ones, which I am afraid you have missed
Sealskinz are great if you have to put wet cycling shoes on0 -

The thermal Merino ones weigh in at that price. You're right, they do feel odd.

I don't worry about the waterproofness, cos the rain runs down my leg into my sock and then they work like a wetsuit
The merino wool socks are like wearing a pair of woolly slippers on the commute to work. Much better than the standard sealskinz0 -
I use Zig Zags from here http://groundeffect.com.au/ very comfortable. I still get cold feet but then I get cold feet in summer.0
