very nice!!!! love the pedals - may need to invest myself :-) do they do any other colours??
  • There from superstar and yes there are loads of colours
  • Looks sweet - got an HJ, myself.

What size are your High Rollers? If 2.35, had any problems with frame clearance?

    Good work.
    Cove HJ
  • There are 2.35 and no problems plenty of room mate

If you dont mind me askin what spec are you running dont see many Handjobs on here
  • Set up a bit more XC-oriented than yours. Had a 2006 Caldera that I got bored of, stripped and moved some of the components across. Haven't yet got round to sorting out some obvious things (like the cranks).

    Forks: Marzocchi 44 (100mm)
    Wheels: Mavic Crossride
    Front mech: XT
    Rear mech: XT (older non-shadow)
    Shifters: LX
    Chainset: Truvitav Blaze
    Pedals: Shimano 545
    Stem: Hope
    Post: Easton EA50
    Handlebars: Raceface low riser
    Brakes: Hayes HFX Nine's
    Seat: Specialized Phenom

Have been running 2.1 tyres (Panaracer Fire XC Pro and a Conti Explorer) - hence the tyre question.
The Crossrides have been faithful servants for a few years now - but the rear keeps getting a wobble in it. Have an XT hub to build into something a bit stronger. 24h wheels look nice - but not the strongest.

Sweet bike - got me thinking about the AM slant. Might pop mine on here when I've finished. But by that time, it'll probably need a paint job!

    Cheers
    Cove HJ
  • My cove started off life as a voodoo Bokor with a similar spec to yours.

I changed the frame first then slowly upgraded parts month by month I didn't realy think
About mine as all mountain but I guess it is.

Im a big fella so I tried to build it as strong as possible having ruined many parts
I ride mostly xc myself think the hardest thing its had to cope with was the monkey trail
Black routes but I failed before the bike did

The cove is a very cable frame that's good for almost anything excluding
DH and FR but with a travel adjust fork like mine it can cope with xc and I guess all
    Mountain all day long.
  • Perhaps I meant 'more agressive than mine' rather than AM!

I've found mine has handled whatever has been thrown at it - including the North Face at Grizedale.

Some of your spec has got me thinking though...

  • very nice bike mate

  • Hi, I've just started a blog on building up my Cove HJ from scratch - I hope to provide info & ideas that I've found to be not so easy to find online as well as the basics of trying to do this at home.
Subscribe & follow the ride. Hope it entertains!
