Warranty advice..

I bought a replacement screen for my laptop back in June/July, last month it started playing up, turns out it's faulty. The seller has accepted this and can replace it, but wants me to pay £35 as it's been working since June :? The question is, do I have to do this? As when I bought it, it was described as having a 1 Year Warranty, so surely it should be replaced for free?

You should pay nothing.0

if he's charging £35 to strip the old screen out and fit the new one, then thats fair enough i guess as the warranty will only cover the part, not the labour to fit it (much like bike warranties)
but if he expects you to pay just to get a new screen, then thats not on0 -

I disagree, the OP could reasonably charge for the costs incurred in stripping out the screen and sending it back if he was doing it himself, so I don't understand why he should incur a cost for the seller doing it.0 -
he should repair or replace at no cost to you.0

All warranties should cover any expenses related to the failure of the item which is being replaced.
Bike warranties are just the same. My back brake packed up on my motorcycle which was about a 700 pound job, and everything was payed for by Suzuki as it was under warranty. All labour hours should be paid for.
The seller seems quite ignorant as to how a warranty works, as 1 year covers it for 1 year and replaced free of charge. There is no, hey your screen has been working for 2 weeks since you bought it, I need a tener to fix it.0
