sounds like the junction just north of the airport roundabout - about a 1 1/2 from my house, if anyone knows anything please let the police know, thinking of his family

me too, one of the main roads out of Leeds and into the countryside from mine (cookridge), must have crossed there hundreds of times

Jeez. I cycled past the hold ups last night. I knew there was a fatality cos the police wouldn't shut a road down for no reason. RIP

Heck that's on my commute. Obviously don't know what happened but I guess that'll reinforce why I only ride it in summer daylight. RIP.

I posted this thread before finding out it was an ex teacher of mine, he taught me in second year at middle school

Me too. I was heading up from Bramhope to the Chevin - that junction across the Harrogate road tends to bother me a bit. Perhaps its actually better not having the traffic lights as you are always giving way.

I must admit I'd just plotted my sunday morning route from East Leeds via Harewood and Otley to come back via East Chevin Road and home through North Leeds. My route would have taken me over that junction.

I might just go out towards York now instead.

It's horrible driving past the junction every day and seeing the flowers and the witness appeal sign.

I've never liked the arrangement of short cycle lane sections into the ASLs on that junction.

That's exactly the reason why I don't go up the inside of lorries at t-junctions. There's been very similar fatalities on the streets of london.
