That could be the problem! Given they are different sorts of bikes, some of the old kit maybe a bit too XC to get the best out of the Orange.
  • The orange is a bit more of a loon toy it likes short up right stems and so on to get the best tis true.

Lol. So Cinders, what size? I'd be looking at a2.3 tyre at least, with a more aggressive tread for the coming months.

Maybe time to change the sig from 'just finished' to 'work in progress'

SS - i'm on 2.25 Cinders. I tried various tyres on the SL and seemed to like these. As thewaylander said though, i'm not sure they're the best of wet welsh rocks!

And AndyOgy - all bikes are really 'works in progress' arn't they?!!

Perfect logic miss notax. I like the way you think.
  • Got to agree with the comments that you don`t want to get your "new"bike damaged-hence this is why my(new to me) Fuel ex8 sits in the shed whilst my test mule Giant VT2 gets used 90% of the time. The strange thing is that this is despite the VT costing me more than the Trek? With any new item we all tend to tip-toe round/pamper them until that first bit of damage occurs, then it`s a case of sod it life`s too short- party on down etc.I am horrified at how much bikes and parts depreciate in value which is all the more reason IMHO to use what you`ve burst your butt to afford;that way you`ll soon get acquainted with your new bike.

Now off to crash the Trek......
