Scott Spark shift

I find that to keep the indexing on the rear gears true on my Spark, I am having to change the cables (inner and outer) every 3/4 months. I have a Scale with the same groupset which only requires a cable change every 18 months. I use them both equally.

I can only think that this is due to the contorted cable routing required on the full sus Spark and the continual flexing of the cable around the rear pivot point, causing premature wear inside the outer cable.

Anyone had a similar experience?

  • More likely the flexy rear end constantly throwing the shifts out.

Try some rock 'n' roll cable magic on the cable inners or even candle wax and see if it's actually getting sticky or just the indexing going as things wobble all over the place!

What RD do you have, if Shimano use Shimano cables, bought by the metre. If Sram what is happening is rather surprising as Sram are not half as sensitive to cable issues as Shimano are.
